SCS Student Life
Catholic Student Life at St. Catharine School
Our Catholic school by the sea provides students with more than just academics—we nurture faith, values, and community. Catholic student life often includes daily prayer, participation in Mass, and learning about the teachings of the Church in age-appropriate ways. Students grow in character through service projects, acts of kindness, and involvement in parish and school activities. Faith is woven into everyday experiences, creating an environment where children not only excel in their studies but also learn to live with compassion, respect, and a sense of responsibility to others.
aug 31 | Blessing of the backpacks
Each year, our Catholic school community comes together to celebrate the Blessing of the Backpacks—a heartfelt tradition that marks the beginning of a new academic journey. Students bring their backpacks to Mass or a special prayer service, where they receive a blessing from our priest or school chaplain. This symbolic act reminds students that God walks with them daily, offering guidance, protection, and strength in their studies and friendships. It’s a meaningful moment of faith and encouragement, uniting school, family, and parish in prayer for a successful and grace-filled school year.
